All modules being built around the refiner's feed quality, operating data, yield selectivities, equilibrium catalyst data, unit goals, unit constraints, equipment specifications, vessel drawings, P&ID's and inspection records.

Developed technology leading to a break through naphtha-to-olefins process entitled, Gasolfin. Initiated laboratory scale testing that confirmed the catalysis of the process. Designed a 12 kBPD base case operation utilizing state-of-the-art process software. Interfaced with two global engineering companies to develop capital expenditure estimates. Co-developed the technical documents for the data room for project investors.

Responsible for developing new business opportunities utilizing FCC technologies outside traditional applications. Actively troubleshooting & solving the most difficult technical issues faced by FCC operators globally. Provide training and technical support to less experienced engineers. Wrote & published a 75 page history of FCC for the American Chemical Society. Developed a fully automated, Excel-based FCC unit monitoring tool including troubleshooting techniques learned through 20+ years of refinery troubleshooting. Published over 24 original papers in the journals & conferences globally. Presented papers in over 52 conferences in the last decade.

Responsible for all matters related to FCC Technical Service to existing customers plus the development of future FCC catalyst requirements globally. Managed 45+ man years of R&Dprojects focused on FCC catalysis. Managed a multi-company project to develop new catalyst &hardware technology to deliver new technology to supply the growing global demand for diesel. Introduced basic catalysis into the FCC world as a viable alternative technology platform. Developed a global team of world-class engineers capable of enabling salesman to reach market share levels not observed for over 10 years of operations.

Responsible for all technical aspects related to Akzo Nobel FCC Catalyst sales Globally. Developed and implemented a 100+ hour training course in FCC for junior engineers. This course included all aspects of FCC beginning from the heat balance to a detailed analysis of conversion section hardware. Result: improved confidence of engineers leading to a 53% increase in market share.Redesigned existing unit monitoring systems enabling rapid analysis of emerging trends in operating units. Trained engineers how to identify and exceed unit constraints without hardware modifications. Re-engineered annual ERTC Catalyst Seminars from sales based to an engineering-based program resulting in a 240% increase in attendance.Analyzed existing in-house and competitive FCC catalytic technologies and compared these capabilities with refinery needs. Developed a reliable system to evaluate units for accessibility constraints. Launched a new technology platform, Jade, which is now operating in nearly 40FCC units worldwide.
