I studied Electrical and Electronic engineering at Kingston which I thoroughly enjoyed. It gives you a solid practical philosophy that you can do anything but makes you aware that the price may not be worth paying for. I worked for a year at an EMI R&D lab, after they employed me during my industrial (3rd year) and it was great experience with a wise team to work with. Unfortunately, the guitar and the bands I were playing with got the better of me and I went full time into music at a new 24 track (upgraded from 16) and played in various bands. One band had us in Ronnie Scott's then 3 split off from that band and had some wild fun. Alas, I could not keep night and day going so the day had to go and I went back to doing some engineering at Rediffusion, doing various Audio Visual projects. I designed the PA at Arsenal football stadium and was the Design and commissioning engineer for the world's 10th biggest cruise liner. This meant being in southern France, which was good for my French and Italian but bad for my music as commuting to gigs was difficult. After concluding this project in Los Angeles, I was gainfully employed by Dolby on the film side; post pro-cinema. I enjoyed nearly 10 years with them. There were brilliant and inspiring folk there at the time, you would have had to have been dumb for some of that not to rub off. I also developed the dubbing aspect of the client's business, which meant running around E&W Europe and Latin America, picking up post production and language skills. About 20 years ago, I started my own company, offering foreign language cinema versioning and sound design-editing-mixing et al. I still relish every challenge and have been rewarded for my efforts in a variety of manners, for which I am grateful. I speak a number of languages and work with clients from all walks of life and corners of the planet on budgets large and small. The best salary is the enrichening that comes through some of the projects. All else is icing on the cake.Specialties: Foreign languages. Co-ordination and coherency.
