I am an active, experienced Health and Safety Practitioner, first qualifying in 1984. I hold Chartered Safety Practitioner level recognition by IOSH. I was fortunate to spend 25 years was working for 2 FTSE top 200 companies majoring on managing safe systems of work and risk reduction alongside the investigation of incidents, their root causes, and repercussions. I also managed the safety planning, construction phase and operation for major construction projects. Since turning to private practice, I have majored on leading national and international equestrian sporting bodies on Health and Safety in the planning and delivery of major outdoor public events and 3 major Royal public visits. I have also assisted several small to medium events and service providers to become established, as part of major agricultural diversity schemes. Experienced Expert Witness with over 15 years practice, having prepared and delivered reports for Coroner, Civil and Criminal matters, many as Joint Independent Expert . leading on from those reports I have also assisted many companies in their defences when litigation becomes a reality for them. Completed investigation into major industrial and serious sporting incidents including Personal Injury, Mechanical Failure, Systems Failure, and Industrial Road Traffic Incidents. Such reports were used for evaluation of exposure to litigation, both insurance evaluation and prevention of recurrence purposes. I have appeared as an expert witness at County Court, Coroners Courts and Crown Court, along with my reports which assisted the House of Peers in their deliberations on country access issues. . Has also prepared reports and appeared as an independent witness in Department of the Environment planning appeals.I am very proud of my connections with all three major equestrian Sport Governing Bodies [SBG's] and the great team of voluntary organisers of event, for me that all started in 1976. I am still active at many events and helping with systems and standards of Best Practice throughout the country and a number of oversees SBG's. I am particularly pleased to have supported and mentored a number of event Health and Safety Stewards, some who have gone on to complete their Health and Safety studies and carrying out very active roles for companies and other sporting bodies. I have completed both expert witness level and specialist witness reports for major industrial incidents where major injury or loss of life has occurred. These reports were required for Civil Position, Criminal Prosecution Defence and Coroner Court purposes.
