We had sold a refurbished 1979 Haskel oxygen boost pump to a Thailand scuba diving training center in 2017. The pump owner, Stephen Burton, offered to loan the pump to the rescue effort after the failure of two other O2 pumps. An O2 pump was needed to refill scuba tanks and cave diver's rebreather cylinders to supplement O2 levels inside the cave. Our pump operated for the last 72 hours. ONE HOUR after the last boy was rescued from the cave, it started flooding again causing rescue workers to run from the cave to save their own lives. PresidentDivealot Scuba Center Aug 1980 - 1992I was responsible for all the typical dive shop activities from cleaning shop areas, training new SCUBA divers as a NAUI instructor (No. 5939), selling & servicing dive equipment, scheduling dive trips as divemaster and chief Red Eye Driver of the 15 passenger van, to local lakes and rivers in WV, North Carolina coast, Florida springs & coast, live aboard boats and doing jets to the Caribbean islands, Grand Cayman & Bonaire with friends and customers. Accounting, marketing, advertising, debt collecting (at least the attempt to collect!), logistics and scheduling all this when technology back then was a pen and note pad. Happy was the day when we received our first digital dialing phone, fax machine, Canon copier, Kaypro DOS computer and our first cell phone.
