Researched, analysed, investigated and assisted investigation teams in the prosecution of Corporations Act offences by company directors for corporate fraud and breaches of directors duties.Highlights included:- Working in an investigation project team for a major corporate law investigation, - Providing support for self-managed superannuants whose evidence was critical for the prosecution of dishonest financial planners and land developers, and- Participating in the high quality in-house ASIC investigation training program.

Duties included:- Assess, investigate and prosecute offences including high impact consumer fraud cases. - Mediation in disputes between civil claimants, traders and their representatives, - Obtaining compliance with government policy with respect to up to 44 statutes and multiple guidelines within the Consumer Protection portfolio,- Obtaining witness statements, preparing affidavits, conducting records of interview of persons of interest, maintaining custody of exhibits, assembling briefs of evidence, researching points for submissions and orders, briefing counsel, testifying in criminal, civil and administrative proceedings and training others to do the same,- Lawfully disrupting and calling to account unlawful schemes and their operators, such as pyramid investment frauds and itinerant sellers of counterfeit branded products,- Liaising with industry bodies and preparing policy submissions for reviews regulation that promote fair and informed trading while minimising the legislative and administrative burden on businesses and the community,- Promoting compliance by routinely obtaining redress in addition to penalties,Highlights include:- Helped set up and then coordinated the WA ScamNet project, which earned a High Commendation at the 2001 Premier's Awards in its first year of operation. - Conducted and participated in multi-agency investigations including with ACCC, Australia Post, Customs, Immigration and WA Police,- Acknowledged for contributing to "The Law Handbook WA" (published by the Sussex Street Community Legal Centre).- Trainer and guest lecturer in consumer law and equal opportunity topics at Central TAFE, Motor Trades Association, UWA Law School, and Curtin - including OHS training for WorkSafe staff,- Presenting at conferences for the non-profit sector on behalf of the Commissioner.Supported my colleagues as an elected workplace health and safety representative, safety committee member, first aid officer and fire warden.
