 Responsible for establishing Trading Division within Steelforce Australia to secure and sell related steel products to Steelforce Branches and Independent Resellers in Australia. Recruited and trained start up team which was fully operational within a month of commencement date. Dealt directly with agents and mills in China in procurement of Merchant Bar, Hot Dipped Galvanised Pipe and Tubular Products not produced by the company owned mill in China. Assisted in organising start up of new company tube mill in Dalian China. Involved in initial production planning, plus establishing sales of tubular products produced by the mill to the Australian Market. Established Manufacturing arm of Dalian Steelforce to supply Cattle Panels and Gates to the Australian Market. Also worked in conjunction with Production Manager and Branches to identify potential manufactured products which our plant in Dalian could produce, ensuring quality standards were met and a profitable return could be made on sales of these products.  Worked closely with a small team to achieve sales targets, set budgets, establish marketing strategies, plan monthly customer offers, organise Shipping Contracts, Transport, Custom Clearance and all other related tasks in importing goods to ensure on time deliveries.  Set up the communications and ordering systems between our sales team in Australia and the Sales/ Marketing and Production team in China, to ensure that all customers orders were made to Australian Standards and deliveries were completed on time to our customer’s satisfaction.

 Establish and managed Electrical Retail Store in conjunction with business partner for Retravision QLD, to service the Bramble Bay area of Brisbane. Role included Sales, Purchasing, Advertising, On Site Quotes, Deliveries and Daily Operations for the store.  Worked closely with staff of 2 to obtain market share for whitegoods and provide a second to none service in the area.

 Initially joined the company in marketing role and later combined it with sales as Stockist Manager to Independent Resellers. Involved in National campaign to promote a product called Allgal, with sales increasing from 7% to above 50% of overall sales of all tubular products in 2 ½ years from commencement of campaign.  Planned strategies with major input from Management and Sales Team to increase sales of Allgal product and other tubular sections manufactured by the mill. Assisted in establishing Orrcon Distribution Branch in Toowoomba in 2002.  Planned and implemented special promotions, advertising campaigns, point of sale material and customer participation to ensure sales of product would meet and exceed set targets. Carefully monitored expenditure compared to marketing budgets to ensure targets were meet.  Extra role as Queensland Sales Manager when Mill was forced to go direct to Reseller Market, rather than through the normal Distribution channels, due to unforseen changes in the market in late 2000. New customer and sales targets were exceeded with this direct to market approach.  Liaised with production and transport departments to ensure on time deliveries for all customer orders. Heavily involved in responding to customer complaints, and ensured that they were treated in a timely fashion and achieved a positive outcome.

Worked closely with all facets of the business and motivating the staff to achieve and exceed sales and margin targets for this period.  Distributor Manager – responsible for 19 Distributors (resellers) throughout Queensland, directly aligned to Brisbane which achieved on average 25% of total Brisbane sales who accounted for over 900 accounts. Identified new and potential Distributors, graphically situated to increase sales and promote the name and brand of the company. Directly in charge of sales team of four, working closely together to achieve daily targets, with an emphasis in creating an environment, which our customers and staff could all enjoy.  Responsible for all Advertising to suit the needs of Company Branches and Independent Distributors State-wide, plus specific promotional activities such as Field Days and Sale Days.
