I am a U.S. Navy veteran and have been with the Houston PD for 25 years. I spent 10 years in patrol before transferring to the Homicide Division as a murder squad detective. I promoted to sergeant in 2009 and went back to patrol for 4 years before doing a rotation assignment in the Houston Emergency Center (dispatch). After one year at the HEC, I transferred to the Child Abuse Unit as a supervisor. I promoted to lieutenant in December of 2014 (#9 overall out of 225 applicants), and to Commander in April of 2023 (#2 overall out of 34 applicants). I currently supervise 148 classified employees and 3 civilian employees at the Northwest Division. I have a Masters degree in Homeland Security Studies from Sam Houston State University (3.83 GPA). I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston, with a minor in Human Development & Family Studies. I am a graduate of the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University.I am a graduate of the FBI LEEDA Trilogy program (Supervisor, Command, and Executive Leadership Institutes).
