Responsible for the complete saloon interior trim system for the Arrival Bus project, including all side trim, window trim, wheel box trim, and full ceiling panel trim systems, as well as door and pillar trim, main saloon floor, and rear bench seat and kick panels.Technical leadership in materials and processes, with a focus on using Arrival's internal composite manufacturing process to deliver the most cost effective and high quality interior trim possible, whilst also using fabrication, extrusions, reaction injection moulding (PU) and EPP (expanded polypropylene).Leading a team of 7 engineers, with a combined responsibility for over 430 parts and assemblies for the bus project.Recruitment responsibility to build and maintain a fantastically talented and driven interior trim team, consistently delivering to a very high standard and to industry leading time scales.Leading with excellence and agility to ensure that the Arrival vision is understood and delivered, whilst enabling short and medium term commitments to not only be met but exceeded as part of the Arrival Bus project delivery.

Working in a consultancy capacity within the business, to drive best practice within the interior engineering function, specifically around materials and processes, as well as design best practice, including datum and location strategy, DFM, DFA, etc.

Working on the ground breaking fully electric Arrival Bus project, leading a team of interior engineers to define and develop the concept for the driver's cab area including Instrument panel, floor, cab bulkhead assembly, window, column and pillar trim assemblies, as well as the security screen and driver's protective door.

Leadership of the design engineering teams covering both studio engineering and whole vehicle packaging, reporting to the Engineering Director. Responsibility to deliver complex design engineering solutions that meet all internal and external customer requirements, as well as global legislative requirements and design standards. All delivered within the time, budget and quality targets set out as part of the engineering product development process.- Operational and budget responsibility for circa 20 design engineering staff both contract and permanent, with an annual resource budget of £1.2m.- Delivery of complete design engineering solutions in support of advanced styling concept development, to demonstrate how styling visions can be achieved. This includes interior systems covering instrument panel, centre consoles, door casings and cabin systems. This also includes exterior systems covering exterior trim, bumpers, roof systems and lighting concepts.- Delivery of engineering designs to manufacture styling model bucks in support of clay model development.- Generation and presentation of engineering feasibility reports into senior design reviews.- Management of secure data distribution, taking styling surface data and releasing into theengineering environment.- Management of the engineering hard point process, to ensure that robust engineering feasibility is delivered, whilst meeting program timing.- Liaison with Chinese home departments to ensure smooth transition of project hand over.- Delivery of vehicle architecture layouts, including occupant package, traditional and new energypowertrains, and whole vehicle hard point definition. This includes providing solutions to deliver multiple vehicles from single architectures and driving commonality through a modular strategy.- Definition of the department strategy and the leadership of the team, to develop and maintain world class, innovative, design engineering capability.

Leadership of the Exterior and Interior Systems design engineering department, with responsibility to take styling release surface data and deliver world class innovative engineering solutions through to production tooling release.- Operational and budget responsibility for circa 18 staff both contract and permanent, with an annual resource budget of £1.1m.- Complete design engineering solution development, and delivery of CAD data for multiple exterior and interior vehicle systems including instrument panel, centre console, door casings, cabin systems, exterior trim, bumper and exterior lighting. Includes initial concept creation, covering multiple materials and processes, through to detailed tooling release designs to meet all customer, legislative and design standard requirements.- Generation of both design engineering technical, and departmental status reports, and presentation into senior company and project reviews. - Ensuring adherence to programme timing, cost, weight and quality targets.- Liaison with Chinese home department to ensure smooth project hand over.- Definition of the department strategy and the leadership of the team, to develop and maintain world class design engineering capability.
