Ray May is the CTO at Parker Group, Inc. and is known for passionately taking systems engineering to new and exciting levels, and always looking for system improvements for command, control, and communications environments. Throughout his career, Ray has sought to enhance user’s situational awareness experiences in operations centers, control rooms, & labs across the globe. Ray’s path to Pro AV started out as an electronics engineering intern with the US Army in the early 1980s. Since then, Ray’s held various positions with numerous technology companies that support global DoD Test Ranges, RDT&E facilities, and Command and Control Centers. Ray finally found a home in PG’s portfolio. In his role as PG’s CTO, Ray is responsible for guiding a highly skilled Pro AV team to deliver streamlined visualization and situational awareness systems. Over his nearly 40 years’ experience in enterprise systems engineering, Ray has personally & professionally driven the convergence of IT and AV for command, control and enterprise operations environments. Ray continuously evangelizes the “less big iron” approach to AV management & control with network-based and node-based approaches and solutions. Most recently, Ray has guided a brilliant team of professionals with creating Parker Group’s newest product, AVenue. With AVenue, organizations can easily synchronously record their AV content with real-time & playback DVR capabilities. Ray enjoys discussing technical banter and welcomes constructive criticism from listeners who won't feel like punching him. When uber geeky Ray isn’t working diligently on solving complex technical challenges for customers and partners, you can find him cavorting or traveling with his super human and understanding wife, helping guide the lives of his 5 children, or tending his garden through precise weeding and pruning. He’s also been known to climb a mountain or 2 and slay some fish from time to time.

  30+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems design and systems engineering management responsibilities in voice/data/video communications, computers, network and information security, and local and wide area networks. Subject matter expert (SME) that conceived, designed, architected, integrated and made operational the Missile Defense Agency Digital Display Distribution System (MD3S) used agency wide for situational awareness (SA). Provide technical and engineering guidance to numerous DoD and commercial clients on emerging trends and concepts in systems engineering, computers, communications, information technology, and audio/visual (AV) Situational Awareness (SA) systems. Support national priority missile defense program tests (Aegis BMD, Aegis Ashore, THAAD, CMCM I & II, FTI/FTO, GMD, et al) to design, integrate, and implement SA system for delivering, recording, and playing back real time high resolution video, graphics, and audio during test events. Support includes architecture design, integration and operation of multi-site MD3S nodes (CONUS/OCONUS).
