Responsible for creating a Data Science culture from the ground up for the company as a whole. From an immediate team perspective, this has meant finding impactful data sources, building pipelines to be able to use these sources to their fullest extent, creating environments where extensive modeling can be done, and deploying finalized endpoints that can be used to make better decisions. From a company perspective, this has meant being an advocate for all the ways Data Science can be used, working through difficult decisions where business and Data Science desires must be balanced, and teaching the mentality a Data Scientist has so that everyone can approach their job with that in mind. Given that Vana is driven by ML decisionmaking, being a resource/teacher across departments is especially important.

Designed, created, and taught a new Computer Science course focused on Machine Learning algorithms. Unsupervised, classification, regression, ensemble, and deep learning algorithms were all covered. The class also had an intense focus on industry applicability with individual projects and presentations aimed at simulating deliverables to a Data Science manager and/or CTO.
