My Professional Story:I graduated from Wallenpaupack High School where I was an unambitious, below average student and had no idea what I was going to do after graduating. I decided to join the United State Army Reserve as a diesel mechanic in hopes of finding a path. I quickly realized that I did enjoy the Army, however I did not want to be a mechanic forever or be a full-time active-duty soldier. The Army was a vital part of my growth as I was told we would begin as raw steel and be Forged into hardened polished steel before basic combat training (BCT) was over. In my Military Career I also attended Warrior Leader Course and various other Schools of Development. After BCT, and with no college degree, I was again faced with the big question of what to do. I started working in Security as an entry level officer at $9.75 per hour in 2005. My only goal was to make more money quickly! In six months, I was promoted to Supervisor. With many amazing mentors in my life, I felt Anchored to the process of improvement and realized good things do not come without building your personal knowledge and brand. During a seven-year growth period as a supervisor I started my bachelor’s degree in business management. I was soon promoted to a management position. Starting a new leader position, finishing my bachelor’s degree, raising a child, and still dedicating time to the Army at the same time was a challenge which required enormous amounts of time and discipline. At this point I began the thirteen-year climb through various promotions until today where I currently manage millions of dollars’ worth of business and oversee an average of 58 managers and 2500 employees. I am excited to start an amazing business providing the mentorship I have received from so many great people. I hope my story can inspire you to improve your situation through life’s adversity.
