This is a voluntary elected position. I served 4 years as Chairman of the Higher Education GAA Council (Comhairle Ardoideachais) which is responsible for running all Higher Education Gaelic Football and Hurling competitions.

This was a part-time position I held while undertaking postgraduate studies at TCD. As an employee of the Leinster Council and Dublin University Central Athletics Club (www.ducac.tcdlife.ie), my role was to act as the development officer for Gaelic games in Trinity College Dublin. Trinity College Dublin GAA club is one of the largest clubs on campus with more than 500 undergraduate members and has a large alumni database. Responsibilities included;- Chairman of the TCD GAA central committee.- Represented the College at local, provincial and national level.- Organised club social events such as the annual awards banquet.- Interviewed and made recommendations for sports scholarships.- Responsible for club finances, fund raising and sponsorship.- Liaised with media outlets such as the press and the national broadcaster.- Organised inter-varsity competitions and championship weekends.- Developed a voluntary tuition programme in a local disadvantaged area as a part of the clubs long term development plan.- Organised alumni events, club newsletters and yearbooks.- Successfully campaigned for the college’s first full-time development officer.
