After a 5 year hiatus, first developed in 1992, returning to the State Park to provide a volunteer, first response, non-transport licensed IDPH agency which gives the Park volunteer EMTs and Paramedics to patrol the trails and respond to emergency situations upon notification. Injury prevention is the key service given by educating visitors to the Park of the risks and dangers of going off marked trails and the possible consequences that could follow. Providing additional assistance to responding agencies in mitigating the safe treatment and transport out of the Park to awaiting emergency transportation to an appropriate medical facility.
