Commercial Construction Superintendent
• Bartley Construction focuses on multifamily properties and ranges in work from repairs to interior upgrades on an entire property to new construction. As Construction Superintendent I oversaw many different projects of the years and have experience in leading crews, performing walk-throughs, assessing safety and cleanliness, assuring compliance with regulations and insurance as well as state and local building codes. Manage multiple crews in different areas on different projects. Visit and put together bids for any potential new jobs. Also work with apartment owners and managers to acquire and negotiate contracts. Grew in size from a 5 man crew to multiple crews with over 30 employees.• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.• Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.• Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.• Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction or extractive workers.• Confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.• Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.• Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.• Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.• Provide assistance to workers engaged in construction or extraction activities, using hand tools or other equipment.• Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.• Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
