I'm Ray, I am retired but now act as a Volunteer Advocate for Sussex Police with over 20 years of experience within policing and digital forensics. I have a postgraduate certificate in International Security from the University of Sussex and a strong technical background in cybercrime and digital forensics. I'm passionate about leveraging technology to uncover critical evidence and provide invaluable support to law enforcement and justice systems. I collaborate effectively with diverse teams, stakeholders, and legal professionals, ensuring seamless court processes and victim-focused outcomes. As a devoted volunteer, I look after vulnerable witnesses and victims, assisting them in giving evidence via secure video links. I use my problem-solving abilities and empathy to create a supportive and compassionate environment for those in need.I'm committed to knowledge sharing and continuous learning. I have authored technical presentations for new recruits and experienced officers, and shaped policy documents for the HTCU, aligning operational practices with cutting-edge forensic methodologies. Outside of work, I maintain an avid interest in technology, literature, military history, politics, and science fiction. I hold a deep sense of responsibility in my line of work, and I'm driven by the impact I can make to keep communities safe and secure.
