As part of the Global Infrastructure team I am the operational service owner of the EMEA Hosting environments built on Google Cloud VMWare Engine including Disaster Recovery and Backup service solutions.My main duties include:- The day to day management of the EMEA vSphere environments hosted within Google Cloud VMWare Engine (GCVE). The virtual environments are comprised of 30 hosts and over 1000 Virtual Machines.- Operational support for the on premise vSphere vSAN environments hosted in data centres across the globe.- Identifying operational problems in the hosting environments and contributing to their resolution. - Operational ownership of the EMEA BaaS system, utilising Veeam, to backup virtual and physical environments to cloud storage.- Monitoring of global on premise and cloud storage infrastructures to ensure appropriate levels of performance and utilisation of resources.- I act as an approver on change management requests which will affect the global hosting environments.- Operational ownership of the EMEA Disaster Recovery service, utilising Zerto to replicate the virtual environment to the cloud hosted recovery site. - Generate weekly global reports for all hosting environments to guarantee they meet operational performance needs, and to ensure proactive measures are taken to maintain high availability of services.- Assist other members of the global team to resolve complex infrastructure issues and provide training and mentoring as required.- Maintain technical and procedural documentation to ensure a high quality, consistent level of service is sustained.- Assist the Infrastructure team during implementation of major projects, such as the migration from on premise to GCVE hosting environments and patching/upgrade activities.

I was the technical team lead, working closely with a team of engineers to deliver remote enterprise support to a large portfolio of customers. As part of my role my duties included: Maintaining client’s IT Infrastructure’s to ensure maximum up time and availability.Acting as an escalation point for major technical incidents or problems.Continually assessing my team to develop their skills through mentoring or more in depth training.Ensuring best practices are enforced across the service desk for 1st line, desktop and server support engineers.Analysing call resolution trends and statistics to ensure continued effective service delivery.Continually assess calls to ensure the relevant fixes are being applied in a timely manner, to ensure customer expectations are met. Demonstrate open and clear lines of communication with colleagues across the business and external clients. Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of products including all major Microsoft server and desktop releases, VMWARE, Hyper-V, Watchguard firewalls, Veeam and Symantec backup, HP networking and HP servers.

As part of a small team I supported NCH's European operations running out of the UK data centre. I provided support to all aspects of the companies IT Infrastructureincluding: VMWare 6.5 Virtual environment supporting 100+ Application and data servers. Working as part of a large team in the Economic Development Department, I initially provided Helpdesk and then Network support.
