My focus is on the design, implementation, and maintenance of our High-Speed Data and Voice Network. I have been able to work with an extremely wide variety of concepts and am involved in every aspect of our company from the end-users router to our core router. In my position I work with every piece of the ISP puzzle, not just a single segment as which you would do in other telecom/ISP positions. Research all outages and verify impact, duration, and resolutions. Compiling and hosting a weekly outage report which is discussed on a conference bridge with management across all regions of the company. Writing and distributing RCA's for outages. Assisting employees as needed with technical questions on active outages. Writing RCA's for the FCC on VoIP outages which meet certain thresholds. Identifying reoccurring and impacting issues across the network and ensuring they are addressed in a timely manner. Monitoring the network with a wide variety of tools. Researching alarms and diagnosing where faults lie which included tracing circuits across transport gear/finding how equipment connects/checking routing-MAC tables/checking optical powers-wavelengths/etc. Working with IP Engineers and Field Technicians during outages to restore services.
