Design engineering of new product and product enhancements of hydraulic planetary winches, worm gear winches and rotation swing boxes. Lead cross-functional project teams from design to release for sale utilizing product development procedures. Engineering test laboratory responsibilities included developing test criteria, test plan, product testing, material/component testing and construction of test equipment. Direct the work of laboratory personnel to accomplish testing to SAE standards, internal product proving procedures, and customer specifications. Partner with sales to promote new products and product enhancements. Support manufacturing, assembly and quality with engineering resolutions on part and systems problems.

Development of replacement engine parts and engine accessory products for Ajax, Caterpillar, Lufkin, Waukesha, and Gemini engines. Design engineering of a multi-cylinder two-stage gas compressor. Develop product prototype testing and production test requirements to meet customer requirements. Create and maintain design information and documentation including ISO 9000 and Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) submissions in accordance with QS-9000. Oversee the work of draftsmen, technicians, and physically participate in the construction and testing of prototypes.

Design and development of new products and product enhancements for mechanical and electromechanical controls and instrumentation. Applications involved engines or their driven equipment for monitoring pressure, temperature, liquid level and more. Established and maintained project schedule, bill of materials, engineering prints, and cost / profit. Work with internal and external customers to define product proposal / specifications and completed projects to release for sale. Additional responsibilities included sustaining and manufacturing engineering for current products. Analyze product defects and performance issues of products returned for warranty and repair. Obtain major international authority approvals for new and existing products.

Sustaining engineering issues of Ditch Witch current products including researching and designing components, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Partner with product support to resolve product issues of Ditch Witch products. Evaluate input on design changes using existing capabilities. Provide engineering support for sales, production, purchasing, and quality on various projects. Evaluate products returned for warranty to determine design changes that can retrofit to existing products.

Responsibilities included designing components and subassemblies for aircraft trainers. Projects included working with mechanisms, precision parts, sheet metal and fiberglass. Employ design-drafting techniques utilizing AutoCad Release 14 to DOD-STD-100C or commercial standards. Create bills of materials, engineering releases, and change orders.
