Technical Consultant (Lead) (2011 – September 2012)BP Gulf of Mexico (BP GoM) Brownfield upgrades - Serve as Process Safety & Fire Protection Lead for brownfield work on platforms in Gulf of Mexico such as Atlantis, Thunder Horse, Mad Dog, Horn Mountain, Na Kika, Pompano, Holstein and Marlin. The scope of projects range from procurement to major topsides upgrades. Responsibilities include compliance with client ETPs and STPs as well as industry regulations, HAZOP/LOPA participation, safety in design reviews, inherently safer design, passive and active fire protection, and dispersion modeling report reviews, fire and blast study reviews, P&ID reviews, action item tracking/recommendation closure from process safety studies and development of dropped objects study for activities around flex-joint replacements. I was in charge of the inspections for large refining and chemical plants such as Vopak, Akzo Nobel, and PPG where I would surveyed, bid, design, inspect, and procured materials for installations of fire protection systems such as sprinkler, fire alarm and clean agent fire suppression systems. Customers included Harris County, H.I.S.D., Schlumberger, Reliant Energy, Dow Chemical, PPG, Vopak and many other large entities. Created schedules had to forecast projections for labor; had to order material (lead-times); coordinate fabrication and installations with other disciplines for various jobs simultaneously.

Worked in the machine laboratory on a CNC Lathe and CNC Mill assisting in the training of clients in the higher productivity principals specified by Sandvik Coromant. I ran the CNC Machines on specific training techniques displaying the great capabilities of the Sandvik Line of products. Also assisted in the research and development of specialty inserts for specific industries such as the aluminum wheel manufacturing industry.
