Current(2010 – 2012) - Project Manager / Process Development Leader for a collaboration of Dow and OPX Biotech to develop a bio-based route to acrylic acid. Led multi-site, multi-company technical team and set overall process R&D strategy, provided technical direction, established project timelines and resource plans. Team developed a scalable process to produce acrylic acid from a fermentation-based intermediate.(2009 – 2010) – Bioscience R&D Leader responsible for techno-economic assessment of renewable based technologies offered by external companies and institutions. Technical liaison with Algenol Corp. for development of an algae photo-bioreactor for a CO2-to-ethanol process. Led team of MBAs to understand fermentable sugar feedstocks and ultimately develop a sugar price model.2006 – 2009: Process R&D Technology Leader for Glycol Ethers Business Unit2004 – 2006 – Process Development Leader and Capital Project Manager for scale-up of fermentation based recombinant protein vaccines on behalf of the DAS Animal Health business. 2002-2004 – Dow Biopharma. 2001-2002 – Polyolefins New Bus. Dev. Process Development Leader for the scale-up of sulfonated polymeric membranes for HVAC dehumidification 1998-2001: External Manufacturing Tech Center.
