Currently responsible for team leading a $1.5 billion segment of our company I have been in the corrugated packaging business for the past 32 years, 17 with Georgia-Pacific and the last 15 with WestRock. I moved around quite a bit, working in various plants and markets in the areas of sales, sales management and operations management. I've successfully led teams as small as 10 and as large as 97. Regardless of size, my management style is consistent because the business we are in is all about people, those we employ and those who buy our products. The great manager Tommy Lasorda was once asked to name his starting line-up and not only did he name the starting 9, but he also named their family members and off the field interests. He knew that those people and hobbies were just as important in determining on-the-field success. This great business led me back home to West Michigan in 2005, where I have a wife of 30 years and three grown children. Much of my business and reports are in other states, which requires weekly travel, organization and excellent time management.
