Overseas MissionaryProvidence Church Aug 2011 - Dec 2013I spent 6 months working with street boys in Kitale, Kenya. The whole time boiled down to being present with these kids. I sat down with them talked. We played games and they shared their lives with me. I then worked at a children's home in the Cherangani Hills region near the village of Sibanga. The home was a center for abandoned children. I left Kenya when a corrupt immigration officer demanded a bribe and I refused to pay. In the end my choice was to be arrested, pay the bribe or leave Kenya. I took the third choice knowing I could not return again.
