It has always been an excitement to be part of this technology era.In last few years, the iteration cycle of online applications has been shortened. In response to the changing demand from the market, technology stacks and applications have to stay flexible to adapt to any new demand.To achieve this, software engineers need to rethink both front end and back end. Decoupling web services and breaking them into smaller microservices is a better way to ensure the flexibility and scalability of online applications.Thanks to the new technology appear in last few years, some of the business logic could be offloaded to the front end. The task of modern web apps' backend has changed significantly. A robust and scalable backend plus fat front end is the trend now. As front end development become increasingly complex, structured front end component is a must. Modern front end MVVC frameworks(Angular/React/Vue) contribute a lot to a robust and well-organised code base for a fat client, and CSS preprocessor like less\sass, make CSS much smarter than what it was.Cloud-based platforms such as AWS/GCP make business much easier to scale. Pairing with docker and kubernetes virtualization tools, it make infrastructure as code truly possible.Active learning new knowledge is a must for technologist. As a software engineer, I have always been trying to be the jack of all trades and master of some.
