Head of Asset Acquisition, Project Delivery & Services

•Management of Powertrain R&D projects; including planning, reporting, forecasting and tracking spend vs budgets, resource planning, risk and change management.

•Lead cross-functional activities internal & external (supply base) of the business to ensure overall successful project delivery. Coordinate and liaise with the purchasing and manufacturing teams to support development of the project cost model, manufacturing strategy and project hardware requirements.

•Responsible for project status and progress reports, presentations and briefings to project stakeholders and Changan headquarters (China, Chongqing).

•Lead project handover to HQ of all the relevant technical and project documents such as the PDS, DVP, BOM, drawings, analysis reports, test standards, test reports etc.

•Generate and lead continuous improvement activities to develop and evolve the project management processes and procedures.

Prime interface to the vehicle line programme team. Responsible for achieving Centre of Competence (CoC) deliverables in Jaguar & Legacy programmes.

•Manage the Powertrain team in the planning, co-ordination, delivery and reporting of requirements to support the Cycle Plan programmes and Cycle Plan studies, using Product Development System principles.

•Monitor CoC performance and lead or escalate cross module / CoC problem resolution on all programme aspects of content delivery, including virtual / physical build and launch support.

•Lead and manage input to weekly Programme Steering Team and Vehicle Integration Team meetings and drive the team in the use of tools and processes to manage the completion of deliverables for programme unit gateways.

•Work closely with business functions - CoCs, Product Strategy, Advanced Product Creation and Marketing, to ensure the programme delivers the expected prescribed product actions in a robust manner.

•Negotiate and agree on programme & attribute targets for Powertrain modules.

•Manage conflict and issue resolution internal to the CoC and cross function.

Component Technology Group
(Net Shape & Additive, High Integrity Fabrication, Non-Conventional Machining)

• Managing 3 technology projects of £1 million total value.

• Innovative manufacturing projects including hybrid platform integration, advanced research on Friction Welding capabilities and usage in wider industrial applications.

• Key responsibilities include communication with key stakeholders, project planning, spend profiles, status reports, risk management, forecasting & analyses.

• Support Chief Engineer to ensure all forms project reporting (costs, resourcing, invoicing etc.) for Group are accurate and delivered timely.

• Drive management and project delivery processes to ensure delivery on time and to budget.

• Research & Development
Responsible for mechanical and analytical testing of engineering materials ranging from polymers to composites, culminating in a technical report.
Worked in small teams to research and develop new grades of polyamide.
Supporting role in production up-scaling trials of new products.
Supporting role in design of new manufacturing unit for large-scale production.
