General practitioner at emergency department my responsibilities include triage and first response to critically ill patients, stabilization and management of patients according to emergency protocols, monitoring patients staying at the department, medical and surgical procedures as recommended by the emergency protocol’s, disposition of patients to different department and documentation

I worked as a general practitioner at emergency department in Ribat university hospital, my responsibilities include triage the patients as first responder and quick assessment according to emergency protocols, Stabilization of critically ill patients and involve my senior in disposition patients at the emergency department whether they need to be in resuscitation area , trauma center , yellow or green zonesDealing with different types of medical and surgical emergencies , trauma and RTA Initiate management plan at emergency department and involve the primary units for disposition of the patients Regular follow up of vital signs and significant lab tests and imaging Perform procedures that needs to be done at the emergency department such as IV access, Nasogastric tubes , Urinary catheters, Femoral samples, wound dressing, sutures, abscess drainage (septic areas) , splints, paracentesis and posterior slab Dealing with agitated and intoxicated patients Oxygen therapy and pain management Regular discussion of the new cases with our seniors Documentation of everything since the patients arrived until disposition
