About Dr. Ray Benedetto, Dm, Lfache, Colonel, Usaf Msc (Ret)

My goal is to make character-based capitalistic businesses highly successful models for others to emulate. Business leaders face mind-boggling challenges, especially in building the right culture that attracts, motivates, inspires, and retains the very best talent that continues to innovate and drive the company forward. Character-based Capitalism is about making more money by doing what is right for ALL stakeholders, which begins with having everyone within a company aligned on Values and Purpose.Leaders of high-performing organizations with whom we have worked appreciate and live by the Four Pillars of Character-based Capitalism we defined in 2010: Shared Core Values, Leaders at All Levels, A Transcendent Organizational Purpose, and A Commitment to Performance Excellence. Organizational success emerges from exceptional behavior throughout an enterprise, guided by Core Values through which associates improve the world in which we live. As a seasoned executive-leader with over 45 years of well-grounded leadership experience in both public and private sectors and as a credentialed practitioner-scholar in Organizational Leadership, I bring unique perspectives to our clients and long-term relationships. Further, our research has shown how Character-based Capitalism cultures have higher effectiveness, performance, and sustainability than businesses driven by profit alone. At GuideStar, Inc. we help company leaders develop and nurture the “right culture” through which they build, sustain, and protect highly successful, sustainable high-performing enterprises. They master the critically necessary leadership practices appropriate to their organizational level by employing the Four Pillars that underpin character-based, values-driven cultures. Specialties: Character-based Capitalism; Performance Excellence; organizational effectiveness, transformation, and change; organizational leadership (strategic, operational, and tactical); organizational learning, innovation, and knowledge creation; character-based culture development; quality management systems; strategic planning and balanced scorecards; and ethnographic and case study research.
