For details about Dr.Bo's work and research, please refer to his personal website: https://sites.google.com/site/eeruibo/MISO is a Regional Transmission Organization and Independent System Operator of wholesale electricity market. MISO assures consumers of unbiased regional grid management and open access to the transmission facilities under MISO’s functional supervision.At MISO, Dr.Bo uses state-of-the-art optimization and simulation tools such as PROMOD and PSS/E to conduct research and engineering work to build models for simulating electricity market operation, and perform in-depth analysis to evaluate the economic benefits of potential transmission projects, ranging from several million to several billion dollars in capital investment, for various initiatives in MISO which ensures the reliable and efficient delivery of electricity in 15 U.S. states and the Canadian province of Manitoba. Analysis results are used to justify the effectiveness of transmission projects, determine cost allocation method, support regulatory filings to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and assist MISO Board of Directions in making approval decisions.Dr.Bo has been actively involved in researches pertaining to power system operation and planning, power system economics, and computational methods. Particularly, the interested areas include Power System Computation Under Uncertainties, Global Sensitivity Analysis of Economic Dispatch and Its Application in Planning and Operation, Economic Transmission Planning and Market Simulations. Dr.Bo is the author or co-author of over 60 technical papers published in peer reviewed journals and international conferences. He served as editor and reviewer for a number of international journals, and contributed source codes to open source power system research and educational software MATPOWER (MATLAB Power System Simulation Package).Some selected tutorials, presentations and papers are as follow.
