I am a server administrator with 15 years of experience in both server and client systems management, troubleshooting, and life-cycle management. I have worked in the Air Force on enterprise-level systems and small scale deployments, and have been recognized with several awards during my career.I worked as the head of the network defense department at Kadena Air Base. I led a 30-person team that oversaw the global policy management, patch deployment, and operating system updates for all the systems on the base. While I was in charge, Kadena Air Base was recognized as the most secure network in the Air Force, as well as being honored with the "Best Large Communications Squadron in the Air Force" award two years running. I most recently worked at Friendly Computers Spokane, where I worked as the lead technician and mobile technician positions. My primary duties consisted of high-level computer, server, and networking installations and troubleshooting/repair, assisting and overseeing jobs in-store, and traveling to customer's home and business locations to perform repairs on-site. Colleagues know me as a highly driven leader and knowledgeable technician. I don't direct my team to do as I say without listening to their input. Instead, I spend a lot of time understanding the problem or new requirement, and the situation, before implementing a solution. I can (and often do) work well alone, but I’m at my best collaborating with others.I have an Associates degree from the Community College of the Air Force, CompTIA Sec+ and A+ certifications, and am pursuing my BS and additional certifications from Western Governors University.
