Lanco Solar International is a division of Lanco Infratech, a $2 billion infrastructure company and India’s largest Independent Power Producer. As Bid Manager for North America I was responsible for managing the division’s response to competitive bids and tenders for large-scale solar projects issued by private and government entities in the USA, Ontario and the Caribbean.

I joined Lanco as a market analyst with responsibility for developing its international expansion strategy in the solar photovoltaics market. This work involved a strategic evaluation of the solar markets globally - taking into account market size and maturity, regulations, solar irradiation conditions, electricity pricing and market structure, market access, and ease and cost of doing business.

IMServ Europe, part of Invensys Operations Management, is the UK’s largest electricity data collector, manager of the UK electricity balancing and settlements system, and a growing player in carbon and energy management services. As Market Research Analyst my role involved informing the company’s strategic planning process through tracking industry, regulatory, and market trends, gathering competitor intelligence, developing strategic analyses of new markets, assessing the business case for new products and services, and promoting knowledge sharing within the organisation.

Writing analyst reports on the financial services sector with an focus on emerging markets and new technologies. Publications include: Consumer Finance in Russia; Banking the Unbanked; The Business Case for Mobile Banking; Web 2.0 in Financial Services; Peer to Peer Lending, and; Alternative Payments.

A short term contract looking at business process outsourcing opportunities in the New Zealand banking & insurance sectors.

Advising on and supporting the proposal for MFI's Poverty Removal Programme in Serbia and Montenegro.

MFI's Poverty Removal Programme proposes the use of a special 'development currency' for the production of export oriented organic agriculture on unused land in developing countries. The role included assisting in establishing the programme's Jakarta representative office, developing feasibility studies, and representing the project to a wide range of stakeholders in Indonesia, including national and local governments.
