As a Deaf culture and ASL curriculum co-author and Deaf interpreter, Raychelle considers herself as a preserver, protector, and promoter of Sign Languages and Deaf Communities, along with her fellow colleagues. Raychelle has taught a variety of courses related to sign languages, education, research, and culture for over 25 years for various organizations, schools, and colleges. She has also taught courses for different programs and units at Gallaudet: ASL, Deaf Studies, Education, General Studies, Interpreting, and Professional Studies. In the last decade, Raychelle taught face-to-face, hybrid and online graduate courses preparing future ASL teachers.Raychelle has published several books, multiple book chapters, three book reviews, several academic journal publications, two encyclopedia submissions, and several news articles. She also reviews different journal articles for different journals, and book chapter submissions. She is currently working on several large projects.Raychelle has been invited to present at over 40 different venues internationally, including American Sign Language Teachers’ Association, International Congress on the Education of the Deaf, Association for College Educators of Deaf and Hard of Hearing, American Evaluation Association, National ASL and English Bilingual Early Childhood Education Summit, Gallaudet University Regional Interpreter Education Center, ASL Roundtable, Revolutions in Sign Language Studies, Visual Language and Visual Learning Lecture Series, and Conference for Community and School Awareness for Deaf, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind.
