Elected member of the board of the Digital Health Association

I founded CIO Studio to help Kiwi businesses (small and medium-sized) make sense of their Digital Strategy. We provide businesses with an enterprise-level CIO capability on a subscription basis at a price point that meets their budget.

Hira is a major programme of work aimed at transforming the way in which Kiwis access use and share health information.

Following the merger of Designertech with Theta I managed the transition and led strategic consulting assignments

Designertech was primarily a consulting services organisation which was struggling when I took over. I led process and performance initiatives that increased revenues by 15-25% p.a. and profit by an order of magnitude from 2012 to 2018.

ITP is the premier professional institute for IT professionals in New Zealand. The President was a voluntary non-remunerated position equivalent to Chair of the Board. During my tenure ITP was re-branded (formerly the New Zealand Computer Society) restructured and returned to surplus and made significant contributions to shaping government policy for the Tech sector.

During this period I undertook a number of consulting and project management roles, primarily in the health sector. I worked with Ministry of Health, most of the larger District Health Boards and several of the smaller ones, and I was the Establishment Director for the University of Auckland's National Institute for Health Innovation.

I was appointed following the publication of the WAVE Report which was commissioned by the Clark Government to address systemic issues with digital health in New Zealand. NZHIS at that time had approx. 120 staff. While in this role I oversaw a number to projects initiated to address those recommendations including an upgrade of the National Health Index, development of National Provider Index and implementation of the National Immunisation Register.

I oversaw the implementation of a number of significant Information Systems programmes including managed desktop environment, an ERP system, and a new enterprise-wide patient management system. At the same time we achieved dramatic improvements in the efficiency of the internal IT department, which was independently verified by a reputable consulting organisation.
