During my tenure, I managed privacy-related due diligence and post-purchase integration for numerous major acquisitions (including global operations of SVM and NGC), and served as Blackhawk's representative to several industry coalitions and trade groups.

Network Time Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is the independent entity that maintains critical standards (e.g., Network Time Protocol (NTP)) and canonical software implementations (e.g., NTPD) for network timekeeping. Accurate computer network timekeeping is essential for the function of critical infrastructure, such as cellular phone networks, the Global Positioning System (GPS), and many mission-critical security technologies. NTF provides direct services and support to improve the state of accurate computer network timekeeping, including standardizing protocols and system behaviors, maintaining software and servers to facilitate timekeeping efforts, and helping people and organizations maintain their time-dependent systems, technologies, and functions. I was a founding board member and served in various board-level roles; while I'm no longer on the board, I continue to support the important work of the great team at NTF.

ePrivacy Group was a privacy consulting firm that also functioned as a technology incubator. Our first spin-off, anti-spam technology firm TurnTide, was acquired by Symantec for $28M in July 2004. Other technologies include groundbreaking work in adding cryptographic authentication to email to foil "spoofing" and brand ID theft, concepts from which have been adapted by many companies in the years since we introduced the Trusted Sender technology and published the corresponding Trusted Email Open Standard. My role was to manage all privacy consulting activities as well as privacy issues arising from the product development work occurring within our incubator technologies. Our privacy consulting clients included: Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc., Comcast Inc., Household/HSBC Bank, Kimberly-Clark Corp., Microsoft Corp., Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Pharmacia Corp. (Pfizer).
