Life is a journey too short to stay on one path. The human mind is a biological AI prediction-machine that is only as good as the breadth of experiences and data you put into it.Son of hard working immigrant parents, raised by my tough yet nurturing grandmother, my childhood was filled with responsibility, curiosity, and adventure. From an early age, I was given chores and work at my parents restaurants and grocery stores which built my sense of responsibility, work ethic and commitment. Curiosity compelled me to dismantle many toys, bikes and appliances in an effort to learn how things worked. Some of these items never worked the same ever again but that never stopped me from experimenting to grow knowledge and understanding. Failure only happens when you don’t learn from mistakes and I live that philosophy today. I’ve rebuilt three car engines, replaced four clutches in different vehicles, fixed large and small appliances, renovated several properties doing framing, drywall, electrical and plumbing work. I am an avid investor and macro economics geek, who enjoys spending time volunteering and giving back. Everything is figuroutable, says Marie Forlio. I am an optimist always looking for solutions. My adventure seeking guidance system steered me towards careers away from office desk roles. As a Geomatics engineer & software architect and application developer, my projects took me around the globe to Asia, Europe, the Middle East and all around North America. Jobs came and went and the work projects and all that code were forgotten, however, the relationships persist. I enjoy meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, and building professional relationships with people of all backgrounds. Software engineers and developers have a limited shelf life so after a long technical software career, I discovered I enjoy connecting and building relationships more than coding or managing projects. The longest running Harvard study on happiness of over seven decades confirms cultivating meaningful relationships leads to health and longevity. My mission is to be healthy, wealthy and wise surrounded by like minded interesting people on a similar life path.The next chapter is about living fully and doing fulfilling and impactful work.
