LEGAL PRACTICE:Educated and trained as a lawyer in the UK and Bangladesh respectively, my specialisations broadly encompass energy law, ESG, retained EU law, human rights and international law, including international criminal law. My areas of practice also include: defamation/libel, employment, and miscarriage of justice.ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANCY:I advocate and advise to facilitate sustainability through resolving the operational, economic, legal, and policy challenges associated with transition towards an environmentally responsible, just, and transparent order of business. This is the core mission that inspired me to set up Oxford Matrix, my consultancy firm.JUSTICE ADVOCACY:I am also deeply interested in transitional justice issues, mostly due to the extractive sectors' (e.g., oil, gas, and mining) “accursed” links to environmental degradation, conflicts, and mass atrocities in different regions of the world. As part of my engagement with these issues as a justice advocate, I have been engaged, for over two decades, in serving victims and survivors of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes through leading the research, documentation, communication, education, and advocacy operations of ICSF (International Crimes Strategy Forum), serving pro bono as the organisation’s Founder and Trustee.
