Led special interest group dedicated to promoting an understanding and sensitivity towards the diverse user groups served by academic and research libraries in California through advocacy and policy reform for the benefit of underserved and underrepresented communities. Major accomplishments: • Organized and executed two-day symposium, “Cultivating Change in California: Decoding and Deconstructing Racial Barriers in Libraries,”which brought together interest group leaders to present on the topic of racial equity in libraries, and;• Facilitated bi-weekly “Digital DIAL-In” to provide space for BIPOC librarians and library students to discuss issues important to them.

Responsible for general promotion of, access to, and instruction on the various resources, materials, services available within and beyond the university library. Major accomplishments:• Planned and constructed the first Africana Studies LibGuide to support the burgeoning program, a necessary component to increasing instructional excellence and student academic success, and;• Initiated integration of LMS across library platforms, increasing library assessment capabilities, and simultaneously maximizing and evidencing library software return-on-investment.• Led the development and implementation of the library’s strategic plan;• Trained, managed, and provided assignments for two student assistants;• Planned, developed, and directed library-wide social media campaign in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, redirecting students and faculty to the library’s virtual resources;• Designed and implemented proprietary framework and performance tracking methods for library outreach team which increased efficiency and communication, and provided metrics for accountability and assessment, and;• Wrote successful grant proposals, leading to the funding of the inaugural LGBTQ+ Pride Month Lecture Series.

Responsible for delivering reference and circulation services to a diverse community patron base. Major accomplishments:• Designed race-intentional and queer/trans-inclusive reader’s advisory materials for a patron base of largely East Asian and Hispanic youth; • Created digital media resource guide and instructional video series to increase senior citizen patron access to the collection, and; • Assisted in the design and execution of program and event assessments, from book clubs to speaker series.

Managed the ingest of the Neil Coffman Grey collection and provided reference services to a diverse student body of over 6,000 students. Major accomplishments: • Selected and applied metadata and technology standards based on best practices, while identifying areas of insufficient or problematic language; • Managed physical and digital archival materials throughout their life cycles, and;• Assisted with the implementation of several library collections, displays, and exhibitions, including the Michele Serros exhibit and the Native Voices exhibition from the National Library of Medicine.
