About Rayheem Eskridge

My primary role at Cal Poly Pomona is a librarian and liaison to the College of Environmental Design. I provide tailored research support, information literacy instruction, and proactive outreach that fosters critical thinking and ethical use of information. My pedagogical approach centers Critical Information Literacy, which helps students and faculty engage not only with the content of their research but also with the power structures behind the production and dissemination of information. In addition to my role at Cal Poly Pomona, I proudly serve as the President of California Academic and Research Libraries (CARL). In this capacity, I coordinate statewide activities, lead executive board meetings, and represent CARL in advancing the mission of supporting academic libraries across California. My leadership includes organizing initiatives and overseeing the development of programs aimed at improving the professional growth of academic librarians and enhancing library services statewide.
