Launched a dozen or so game titles on our platform. Actively working to extend the number of pay-in and pay-out options our platform supports.

Hired to work on special projects. Ended up focusing on productizing our e-commerce system built to support virtual worlds (like Second Life and Sansar). Projects including making the e-commerce system multi-tenant, introducing a "widget" so UI can be inserted into other applications, adding KYC and reporting systems to launch our use of money transmitter licenses.

Senior leader for the YP.com technology team. Chief Architect who is driving changes in howwe build and support systems to reduce costs and improve the productivity of engineeringteams. Currently also manage several engineering teams building advertising products andorder & fulfillment systems. Directly manage 120 engineers and drive work to a large numberof outsourced contractors.• Micro-services architecture: Implementing all new development using Docker and a microservicesarchitecture. Mesos with many modifications to support enterprise needs is used fororchestration. Kafka is used to enable stream based communication between systems. Both nonsql(like Mongo and Elastic Search) and relational databases are used for storage.• Product launches: Launch 2-3 new or revised products per year. Currently working on anew web site platform that will integrate with other advertising products to produce more valuefor advertisers.• Data warehouse: Manage a data warehouse team that uses Hadoop, HDFS, Hive and Sparkfor handling very large amounts of traffic data. Data is sent from there to Vertica and IBI forproduct and financial reporting.• Sales & Operations Transformation: Led a $20M Salesforce rollout to 3,000 internal users,converting print-centric sales and fulfillment to adaptive digital model. Built a new order entrysystem that dramatically reduced order entry time and reduced fulfillment errors by 40%.• Acquisition Integration & Division Spinoff: Built independent CIO organization for YPHoldings spinoff from AT&T (2012), launching 24 transition projects to stand up or port 220+existing systems, including new systems handling HR, finance and others previously managed byAT&T.

As VP of Engineering I led several teams related to AT&T's advertising business. Integrated Ingenio's PPC platform into multiple AT&T ad products. Rolled out Salesforce.com to 5000 sales reps and integrated Salesforce.com with multiple backend ordering systems. Replaced multiple add fulfillment systems into a new system used by 3000 operations people and covering multiple internet advertising products and sales channels. Took over responsibility of AT&T's outsourced technical teams and started long process of in sourcing key technical capabilities.

Ingenio (founded as Keen.com and sold to AT&T in 2007) developed two major platforms: telephony-based eCommerce and pay-per-call (PPC) advertising. I was the first technical hire for Ingenio and grew the startup from $0 to a multimillion-dollar product, leading the firm and a 24-member team through mid-stage growth and acquisition. Over time I directed operations, QA, dbas and engineering on building a highly profitable eCommerce platform. I personally developed several of the core technologies that were used as building blocks by the entire engineering team, including a custom ORM system for data access, a reporting system for call data, and build and deploy systems, among others.In addition to Director of Engineering, my Ingenio tenure included two-years as Director of Operations, and a seven-month break as CTO of a global internet gaming site.

Tripled the technology team to over 60 engineers, product managers and operations. Grewrevenue 700% in 2005. Evaluated facilities in Europe that would be better suited for an onlinepoker business.

Recruited as part of Tcl inventor John Ousterhout’s Sun Microsystems spinoff, leading $0-$2.5M engineering budget and building 14-member engineering, QA and technical writingteam that launched TclPro development tools in 6 months (http://www.tcl.tk/software/tclpro/).Scriptics was renamed Ajuba Solutions and sold to Interwoven in 2000 for $25M.

Led a team of 5 to create two products:Jacl: A 100% Java implementation of the Tcl language.TclBlend: An extension to either Java or Tcl that allows the user to dynamically load the java vm into the Tcl runtime environment (and vice-versa). Both products used a common API that allowed Tcl users to call Java methods and vice-versa.Jacl and TclBlend are now open source.Technical lead for the port of the Tcl scripting language and Tk Toolkit to the Macintosh platform. The product included implementation of a "window" model for the Mac that was consistent with Windows and X Windows. (It had the notion of sub-windows that supported clipping, child windows, etc.)Developed other aspects of core language including low-level file system and Tcl/UDP stacks to higher level packages for ftp, http, xml and more.Worked extensively with open-source community to determine direction of the Tcl/Tk project.

Conducted research on the notion of "agents" (also known as software robots or digital assistants) in software systems. Wrote several technical papers on subject.Responsible for the design and implementation of an architecture for constructing and running autonomous software agents. Was used for mining Commerce Business Daily for projects that would be of interest to Lockheed program managers.Developed a port of the Tcl programming language to the Macintosh which was used by our agent system. Developed an extension to Tcl that added object oriented constructs which was used the agents work as well as on a project for autonomous submarines.

Sumer Internship in the Advanced Technology Group (ATG)Implemented a communications protocol for an agent based news retrieval system. Required use of Smalltalk, C++, assembly, and MacOS Toolbox.
