- Creating and maintaining numerous websites for the vast range of clients- Developing bespoke programming solutions- Troubleshoot and investigating issues and keeping up with latest developmentsI started at New Era Internet straight out of university as office junior, taking on many different tasks from HTML and CSS coding, general web design to SEO marketing. I moved to the programming department where I was creating and developing bespoke elements for websites. Theses included web form, database driven systems and developing the in-house content management system. I also covered front end JavaScript programming when advanced transitions and programmatic front end features where needed to be developed as per the design brief. I also started to introduce Ajax into the in-house content management system, which was used across all the sites, making the customer facing user interface for clients easier to use.Taking over the role as main developer, the company moved to open source technologies so development of a new website foundation was needed. Our main focus was WordPress. This included building a basic template for all future development which everyone could work with, creating a set of bespoke plugins which help set up the correct settings for each site, and a basic theme foundation for all website to be built on.From working within a team, I was able to learn and develop new programming skills when needed, creating, developing and researching new products to help the company streamline their workflow. Working within the company, I am able to experience many different aspects of a website's development process from design, programming to marketing. I was able to experience the business' management side as well, including the day to day running of the organisation and decision making plans. I also have had opportunities to work with numerous clients and to interact with them on a daily basis to help fix and provide solutions to their situation.
