The Indigenous Landscapes Director (Australia) oversees all aspects of TNC Australia’s Outbackstrategy, including leadership, technical and program support, working extensively with First Nations Peoples in northern Australia for cultural, social, economic, and environmental outcomes as set out in the TNC Strategic Plan 2022 - 2030.

Engaged as the inaugural CEO of the Yued Aboriginal Corporation as part of implementation ofthe South West Native Title Settlement (SWNTS) between the State Government (WA) andNoongar Native Title Claimants. Achieved all setup start-up (Governance, Corporate) and operational requirements for 2022/23and half yearly 23/24 compliance with the relevant governance and Corporate legislation,(including CATSI Act, ILUA, Trust Deed and Central Services Agreement) despite 2 year delay inimplementation of Settlement. Led Negotiation of improved terms on a series of SWNTS -related agreements between YACand multiple mining and pastoral proponents. Includes vesting of conservation estate with DBCA, Heritage Protection Agreements and other subsidiary land and water access agreements as part of the SWNTS.. Developed suite of strategic planning documents and obtained Trustee Approval and fundingfor Five Year Strategic Plan, Annual Plan, economic and healthy country planning drafts and forthe Corporation in consultation with the Board, Cultural Advice Committee and members. Established and led improvements for the 7 corporations under the SWNTS on key ILUApolicies and processes to ensure the provision and delivery of high-level, culturally appropriateservices to the Corporation. (Noongar Standard Heritage Agreement; Joint Management ofConservation Estate despite repeal of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act). Coordinated consideration and acceptance of 350 parcels of land (approx. 2,000 ha) acrossYued Country as part of State Government settlement and establishment of Noongar LandEstate.Most importantly, secured and led the successful transition for succession of the CEO role to a person from the Noongar Nation.

Led implementation of Walalakoo’s strategic and business plan consistent with Native Title, Cultural Heritage and Governance Legislation (Commonwealth & State) in accordance with polices, programs, standards and targets. Achieved PBC compliance on all fronts despite the challenges of COVID and maintained recognition of WAC as a highly functional RNTBC across the Kimberley. • Coordinated the legal representation of native title land rights and interests of the traditional custodians of Nyikina Mangala country as per the instructions of Walalakoo Board of Directors-(Over 50 active matters). Supported Walalakoo Directors on all aspects of native title matters including native title and compensation claims, future act and heritage matters, negotiating benefit sharing agreements, development and implementation of governance structures and managing cross-cultural negotiations and intra-community issues. • Maintain an awareness of and engage in capacity building for Nyikina Mangala native title holders. Managed significant community and commercial interests with a strong focus on cultural heritage, environmental protection and economic development. This includes complex governance arrangements for large projects . Highlights include the Indigenous Rangers Programme, a Cultural Heritage Management Plan and securing an Indigenous Protected Area grant. • Administered the Environmental and Cultural Management Programme over 3 years and operational functions of the PBC. Secured and managed over $7 million in Federal and State grants in 3 years for a variety of capacity building environmental and cultural management projects.

Acting at Executive Level 2 -Managed the Land and Sea Management Unit under the auspices of the Environment Programme for the TSRA- (Commonwealth Entity) • Strengthening critical systems and functions; coordinated project teams in their management of contracts and obligations to funders, maintenance of budget and reporting targets as per the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (PGPA 2013). • Managed multiple contractors and consultancies including consultant procurement processes. • This involves the management of Financial, Operations, Strategic Management and their alignment with information management, monitoring, reporting, evaluation and Improvement. Ultimately, I provided operational support and key strategic direction for this regional natural resource management (NRM) body for Torres Strait to deliver its responsibility for delivering the National Landcare Program, Indigenous Rangers – Working on Country, Indigenous Protected Areas and Queensland Regional Natural Resource Management Investment programmes. • Substantive Role Executive Level 1 (2017-18)- led economic service delivery (Business Growth Package) underpinned by governance capacity building in partnership with Prescribed Body Corporates (RNTBC’s) across the Torres Strait. Additionally I managed a portfolio of loans, grants, microenterprise and social enterprise in key focal industries such as tourism, arts and fisheries across the Torres Strait and mainland communities of Sesia and Bamaga. . • Reviewed and introduced key changes to the relevant frameworks and polices reducing risk and increasing accessibility of an enabling environment to Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs.

Working with Indigenous Traditional Owner groups to explore collective impactopportunities for environmental economic or socio-cultural activities on land acquired underNative Title legislation. Working alongside ILC subsidiaries to support employment and training programs acrossNorth Western Australia. Supported administration of ILC grants for large land-based projects over $100,000 and anadditional small land-based projects (up to $100,000) through direct grant funding. Reviewed and administered Benefits Management Framework- performance monitoring,reporting and evaluation of 23 projects across the Northern Territory based on financial andnon-financial performance and compliance criteria.
