I am a Code Assessor for Sustainable Homes (CSH).I work locally with a number of Architects, Developers and SAP Assessors. The Code can be complicated and often difficult to understand for those who have yet to be involved in a CSH project. There are numerous details with reference to the Code which need to be incorporated on the drawings at the design stage before submission. Planning usually request a pre-assessment, this involves a meeting with the architect/client to discuss what level of the Code needs to be achieved. The required score depends firstly on the SAP calculations before any other credit categories are taken into consideration. I advise clients which parts of the Code need to be selected to ensure the desired Code level is achieved. My experience is derived from numerous successful projects.
