During my FOUR years of study of law and also during my attachment at MERU Law Courts I acquired the following skills; a) Drafting both legal and non-legal documents e.g. Plaint, affidavits, agreements ETC b) Legal researching and writing submissions, c) Filing documents, d) Taking instructions and holding pre-trial and post trial briefing with clients, e) Giving legal advice to clientsf) Office management i.e. recording financial and legal entries and bookkeeping, dealing with correspondences and handling emergent issues.g) Negotiation skills.h) Counseling skills.i) Researching on human rights issues and giving legal advice in cases where human rights and freedoms have been violated.
