AKES – Mechanical/Fabrication Site Supervisor / Grangmouth site2005 to 2006Controlling and organising a multi disciplined team of men to fabricate in workshop facility pig launcher and pipe work for WEGP Huntsman pipeline. To go out on different sites from Wilton to Grangemouth erecting the pipe work and pig launchers pressure testing to 70 barge with nitrogen and leek testing, launching and receiving pigs, along with the coordination of men, vans, cranes, fitting, trucks and equipment. ICI - Apprentice Industrial Mechanical Pipe Fitter1975-1979Apprentice with ICI. Served the first 9 months in the ICI training school learning an appreciation of all trades, Then went into the central workshops for one year lerning my own trade about fabricating from isometric drawings machine pipe bending had a 3 month welding course, At that time the pipe fitters welded up to 8 inch pipework and when I came out of my time I wanted to become a welder. Served the rest of my time on different plants on the wilton site. Had day release at Longlands Technical College 2 years then Redcar collage for 2 years, four years in total gaining advanced craft in plumbing.
