After 44 years in the IT industry and over 32 years in the SAP world, I am now starting a new chapter in my life. I have founded Farmers Valley Creations LLC to pursue my personal passion of creating content to help glorify God. In July 2017, I was promoted to Managing Director at IHT Associates LP. This expanded my role to include management of all of our non-partner technical employees. In addition, I am responsible for managing our resource scheduling and pipeline. Continue to work closely with customers who are either running their SAP workloads in Azure or looking to migrate to Azure. Perform pre-sales, Architecture Design Sessions (ADS), pilots, Proof of Concept (POC) and migration projects. Working with customers we help with the design of their architecture, migration, operations and post migration support. IHT Associates LP has worked with some of the largest customers in the world. Directly responsible for the build out of our SAP on Azure Healthchecks which include Oracle on Redhat, HANA on SUSE Linux Enterprise System (SLES) and HANA on RedHat. As a part of my responsibilities in this role, I built on-boarding training for Azure and SAP to quickly bring our team members up to speed on technologies necessary to their position. Led the effort to establish Enterprise Architecture practice, technology road map, build-out Co-location data center, selection of Financial ERP system, initiation and build out of Sally Beauty security organization, roll-out of new network technology to 4,500 stores, digital enablement of sales associates with iPads, implementation of Enterprise Integration software (BizTalk). implemented Project Tollgate process for management of enterprise projects and had direct people management responsibility for the architecture, infrastructure, network, operations, database administration, business warehouse and quality assurance departments.

Member of the SAP on Microsoft SQLserver Center of Excellence. My responsibilities included helping existing SAP on SQL customers improved their operations through consulting and health checks, assisting customers who were interested in migrating to SQLserver through pre-sales efforts and Architecture Design Workshops (ADW) or Sessions (ADS). One project that I led was the migration of a 22TB SAP Business Warehouse (BW) instance from DB2 to SQLserver. Also worked with numerous customers in varying industries that included: Utilities, Oil and Gas, Automotive, Railways, Public Sector, Retail, Manufacturing and Consumer Products. I worked closely with Premier Support to transition the delivery of SAP on SQLserver healthchecks to Premier. This included training several Technical Account Managers (TAM) on how to deliver this service.

Pulse purchased Centex. I worked to complete the transition from SAP to Lawson along with being responsible for Data Integration and SharePoint.

Was promoted to Enterprise Architect for all of Centex Homes. Responsible for the technology strategy for all IT and business applications. This included the SAP Implementation, homegrown solutions for CRM, finance, sales, contract administration and reporting tools. Managed SAP Basis, Security, ABAP, Microsoft SharePoint and BizTalk teams. SAP team was responsible for implementing ECC Finance systems. We successfully implemented SAP FI in the corporate department and had completed testing for implementation to all business divisions when Pulte purchased Centex Homes and stopped the project. Our BizTalk team was key to the delivery of the SAP project. There were over 120 interfaces with legacy systems. We delivered all 120+ interfaces on time without any major changes to the legacy systems,I was responsible for the evaluation and selection of numerous IT applications including Enterprise Integration Suite, enterprise job scheduling, enterprise IT Service Management, enterprise collaboration suite, database administration tools and enterprise monitoring solutions. I also served as a member of the Microsoft/SAP Customer Advisory Board (CAB).

This was a greenfield implementation of SAP migrating Centex Homes from their homegrown legacy finance system. I was responsible for technology decisions for the SAP implementation along with managing the day to day operations. I also served as a member of the Microsoft/SAP Customer Advisory Board (CAB).

Lead Basis Administrator responsible for the management of over 20 SAP landscapes running on HP/UX and Oracle. During this time I lead multiple SAP upgrades including ECC and HR. Helped merged several ECC systems (from acquisitions) into one corporate ECC instance. Responsible for the build out and testing of the SAP Disaster Recovery environment which allowed for 15 minute RPO and 1 hour RTO. Helped relocate DEV/QA data center from Harrisburg, PA to New Jersey,

Served as a SAP Platinum Basis Consultant specializing in Oracle implementations. During my time at SAP, I was a part of 12 full implementations and 6 upgrades. I worked in many different industries including Consumer Package Goods, Telecommunications, Retail, Electronics, Manufacturing and Defense Contractors. Produced numerous whitepapers in the area of SAP on Oracle, SAP lock management and SAP updates. Taught the SAP on Oracle basis administration classes.

Began my career at Texas Instruments as an Oracle DBA responsible for the day to day operations of all TI Oracle systems. This included installation and maintenance of Oracle, backup and recovery, disaster recovery and patching. I completely automated the backup process to produce recovery scripts. These scripts were used to quickly recover a system after an earthquake in Kobe, Japan. This led to the appointment to the Texas Instruments Member Technical Staff. First person to be appointed on their first try. Texas Instruments selected SAP as their Enterprise ERP solution and I was asked to join that team as the first SAP Basis Administrator. I was responsible for the installation and technical configuration of SAP running on Sun Solaris and Oracle. Working closely with SAP, we setup development and test instances and built operational procedures.

Responsible for day to day operations of all Oracle systems. Specifically, I was brought on to automate their backup and recovery capabilities. I delivered a fully automated backup script that built recovery scripts which included a full recovery and a fully recovery and roll forward capability. This helped them meet their disaster recovery targets of 15 minute RPO and 12 hour RTO.

Held various positions at Arco. I began as a Computer Operator on IBM/4381 running MVS. I was promoted to Lead Computer Operator. I was responsible for the management of 5 computer operators. I then moved into a MVS Systems Analyst role responsible for the rollout of MVS releases. During this time, we moved into the DEC VMS world and eventually into DEC Ultrix. I still was responsible for the rollout of these systems and subsequent upgrades. Our team was the first to rollout Oracle to our Petro-physics systems. I eventually became the lead Oracle DBA, responsible for the installation and maintenance of company-wide Oracle database systems.
