Dr. Ray Decker is currently developing a system to battle lung cancer with a low-cost, clinician, out-patient procedure. He is teaming with the University of Michigan (UM) MD and Assistant Professor Claudia Loebel and a UM/VA lung oncology specialist, MD Karin Lagisetty. The system uses a) proprietary anti-cancer BioMg 250 wires, b) a purpose-designed hypodermic needle insertion device and c) a monitoring device. The procedure minimizes tissue damage and pain. Dr. Decker serves as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Nano/Onco, a new company that he founded for the specific purpose of creating and commercializing this ground-breaking system. As CTO of nanoMAG, Ray also assists in developing BioMg 250 for vascular and orthopedic indications. Entrepreneurial Accomplishments Co-Founded Thixomat – now a major international business with > 720 Thixomolding™ machines in 13 countries, producing 3D net-shape parts in a clean and safe environment. Co-Founded nanoMAG – with commercial production of TTMP Mg alloy used in > 300,000 DonJoy knee braces and also in dampened low vibration Shaggy skis.
