Cbb (Chief Brick Builder).Pen & Brick Jun 2019 - PresentToronto, Ontario, CanadaWhat started as a passion and a side hustle to help me manage the stress of a c-suite level corporate job (essentially occupational therapy!) in 2014 had become a business in its own right, with the makings of something much bigger than merely me "playing with toys." As I continue to recover from my life-altering bicycle accident in 2022, I am filled with hope and determination to eventually pick up where I left off, and build on the experience of creating room-sized fantasy skylines, large-scale public events and experiential spaces integrating multimedia productions (light and video), and also small-scale architectural follies... mostly using Lego™ bricks (but I will artistically stack just about anything!). My biggest permanent installation (7m long x 2m high!) can be found at the Ron Joyce Children's Health Centre in Hamilton, ON and over 30 of my follies are in private collections from Chile to Australia and many places in between. My skylines have appeared as temporary installations and exhibits at Holt Renfrew Men, Akasha Art Projects, and 313DesignMarket - all in Toronto. Watch this space... new work TBD.

Publisher, Enroute Magazine, Air Canada'S Travel PublicationEnroute Magazine 1997 - Jun 2023Montreal, Quebec, Canada And Toronto, Ontario, CanadaThroughout my 26 year tenure at Spafax, the project I was most proud of and passionate about was publishing Air Canada’s enRoute magazine, Canada’s iconic travel publication of reference. In 1998, with little experience but a lot of energy and the right attitude, I led a brilliant team in relaunching the magazine to coincide with and support Air Canada's new brand positioning. Our goal, which we successfully achieved, was to "defy reader expectations of the inflight magazine." Under my leadership, enRoute became a global inflight content industry reference, garnering over 500 prestigious awards for excellence in editorial and design (more than any other Canadian publication, ever). The magazine was one of the first in Canada to have a "multimedia" attitude and presence, and spawned branded offshoots like enRouteTV (Air Canada’s inflight television product), enRoute.com and the enRoute Canada’s Best New Restaurant Awards, which has become the de facto “Michelin Guide” of Canadian fine dining. The highly successful onAir email newsletter, built around enRoute content and tiered to different customer loyalty profiles, was a publishing industry first in Canada when launched in 2006.

Publisher, Www.Sparksheet.ComSpafax Jun 2009 - Oct 2016I was the Founder and Publisher of Sparksheet, an award-winning online magazine dedicated to exploring the convergence of story, media, and marketing across new and traditional platforms.In a world where media outlets were becoming more like brands and brands more like publishers, Sparksheet helped media and marketing professionals navigate these changes. The magazine provided insights into how brands could tell their stories and engage customers in a more human, compelling, and platform-agnostic way.As an international publication, Sparksheet focused on stories about mobility and location. It was an editorially independent, transparent, and forward-thinking industry publication, not published on behalf of a client, and did not accept advertising or sponsored content.Now (sadly!) defunct, Sparksheet was truly cross-platform and available as events, a daily "blog", a monthly newsletter, an app (designed in-house by my team at Spafax Interactive), a YouTube channel (a novelty at that point), an eBook, and had thousands followers on Twitter.Sparksheet was recognized for the quality of its editorial content and layout by the Canadian Online Publishing Awards (COPA), The W3 Awards (NY), and was an Official Honoree in the 15th Webby Awards after only one year of publishing. -
