    As MT I was involved in a CSR project by Frisian Flag Indonesia (a subsidiary of now FrieslandCampina). The aim was to provide affordable nutrition to Indonesia’s low income consumer segment, primarily children. Together with a team we set up feasibility studies in four different regions in Indonesia, namely Bandung, Medan, Surabaya, and Jakarta. We launched a line of new diary products that were affordable, fun, and nutritious. In the first four months we focused on developing a new value chain specifically for this project. This meant i.e. creating an efficient product distribution structure, recruiting/trained a dependable sales force (mainly mothers from designated communities), analyzed margin breakdowns, and sales forecasting per region. In the remaining four months we focused on marketing the new products. Examples of tasks were the creation of product packaging designs, BTL advertisements, and the development of a catchy jingle for the brand. This project was eventually nominated as the “benchmark project” for all FrieslandCampina subsidiaries that partook in this CSR project.
