CurrentThe Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) is a regional transportation agency that serves as steward of four bridges that cross the Delaware River between Pennsylvania and New Jersey: the Ben Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges. Through the Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO), the DRPA operates a transit line between Camden County, New Jersey and Center City Philadelphia. The DRPA/PATCO General Counsel and Corporate Secretary is responsible for legal, administrative and board governance issues for both organizations, including but not limited to the handling of all litigation, real estate, contract, bond transactions, labor and risk management matters; hiring, directing and coordinating all internal and outside counsel in litigation, administrative, employment, contract and real estate matters; oversight of a multi-state, self-insured workers compensation program, claims administration, unemployment compensation, EEOC, ADA, FLSA, disability and property damage claims; oversight of internal investigations and other confidential matters, including personnel and contractors; oversight of external investigations and audits; labor matters; union contract negotiations, arbitrations and grievances for all labor matters; and, overseeing all official board actions, including conflicts review, regulatory compliance, and audit.
