  • Coreguard, Llc
    Founder, Chief Technology Officer, Evp
    Coreguard, Llc Dec 2007 - Jan 2015
Based on direct combat experience, the need to differentially share information in its native file format across any number of information systems, Cmdr. Schenk architected the technology to serve the war-fighter's needs in combat. His unique training, experience in combat, and electronics warfare background enabled him to develop operational data-centric capabilities. While traditionalists in information security were protecting an ever-expanding universe at the network level, Cmdr Schenk was turning the once-considered "heresy" of data-centric security into a workable solution. He understood that foreign governments were already "walking around" in our networks, and that the only true path towards better defenses was to begin to secure the data itself.Founding CoreGuard, he developed the first example of data-centric security that is operationally feasible, now under review by the Department of Defense. As the inventor and system architect, he oversaw the engineering of the technology, led design teams and subordinate architects, as well as the quality assurance and export regulatory compliance of the technology. He ensured that all feature designs were in keeping with his vision and original designs, in order to maintain the highest flexibility and growth capability for the system. Building the technology on a shoe-string budget, it has proven itself to be a viable first leap into the world of network-independent data-centric security for the future. As more and more data-centric solutions arise, Cmdr Schenk will remain at the forefront of this technology. His vision is only the beginning of how data-centric information security solutions can help not only war-fighters but businesses as well. His technology innovations can save lives in combat without ever firing a shot, and help business leaders sleep at night, knowing that their data is secure.
