The role of the Program Coordinator and Military Outreach for the Military & Veterans Program (MVP) is to develop, plan, coordinate, manage, and lead MVP center-related programs around community building and professional development. Through collaboration with various partners on campus and within the community, these events and programming efforts support the university’s Thriving Student Model. I also represent the Military and Veterans Program at community college transfer Fairs and on-base military education fairs, serving as a primary contact for potential military-connected students to help promote the University of San Diego within the military community. Most importantly, I support students’ sense of belonging and engage in MVP activities on and off campus, while encouraging students to examine their complex intersectional individual and community identities concerning self and others. Lastly, I assist in maintaining an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone in the Military and Veterans Center.
