As a first generation Mexican American born and raised in San Jose, As the first in my family to pursue higher education, I have always had a pursuit of moving forward, asking questions, and seeking opportunities. I want to continue to bridge the gap for first generation Americans like me and people from my side of the neighborhood and set an example of what success can look like.Currently, I am an Information Technology trainee at Year Up Silicon Valley striving for new opportunities in my professional career. I have learned technical skills such as Business communication, Hardware and Software, Computer Networking, the fundamentals of Linux, and troubleshooting Windows OS. On the soft skills side, I sharpened my leadership, facilitation, collaboration, communication, and time management skills and flourished in these areas of my professionalism. When I'm not immersed in the tech world, I find balance in my hobbies of working out, watching basketball, or catching a soccer game on the weekends.
