About Ray Rojas

Currently an ASP.Net developer. I have almost 3 years of professional software development experience in C#, SQL, MySQL, and IT support.Educational experience:Experience in writing computer vision applications in Python using OpenCV that detect skin, detect motion, isolate colors, detect edges, and extract features using a combination of machine learning techniques such as principal component analysis, k-nearest neighbors, convolutional neural networks, and adaboost. Worked with groups of peers to determine the best approaches to computer vision projects and different ways to increase accuracy using machine learning models.Developed a thorough understanding of Object-Oriented Programming with a java project that started as a simple XML database exercise, which evolved into a game that ranks and scores players for their performance. I started the project by creating a program that stored player information such as rank and name and allowed users to create new players. From there I extended the project to allow creation of character classes. I started with a base character as a superclass and allowed subclasses with strengths and weaknesses against each other. Each subclass is an extension of a base character that gives it unique abilities that are strong or weak against other subclasses. Finally, I created a graphical user interface to allow a player to be chosen before choosing a subclass that you can use to play the game and keep score. This project gave me experience in writing code using S.O.L.I.D principles that is easy to read, easily extendable, and compartmentalized so each class performs a specific function.Developed a full stack program using the M.E.R.N framework that acts as a library website. The books are stored in a MongoDB database. I created an Express server to handle requests and a React front end website to display available books, checked out books, and allow users to check out the books on the website.View my projects here: https://github.com/rayroj88
